I have gestational diabetes so my options are quite limited when it comes to sweet treats. My blood sugars are well managed at the moment but I do get cravings for chocolate from time to time. I generally do not like overly sweet things so when I came across DGF on Instagram the pictures looked appealing and I decided to give them a try.

I ordered the Creamy Chocolate and the Dubai Bar. What I enjoyed straight away was that they are not too sweet. They do not taste like standard chocolate but more like cocoa which is quite powerful but an acquired taste that I really enjoyed. Since switching to a low sugar diet my taste buds have adjusted and normal chocolate now feels far too sweet and even a bit sickly so for me these were perfect.

The Dubai Bar was particularly delicious. I love pistachios and the combination of cocoa and pistachio was just right. In the evening I enjoyed a few pieces with a cup of peppermint tea and when I checked my blood sugars an hour later there was no spike at all.

The only downside was the following morning when my fasting sugar was slightly higher than usual at 5.8 mmol instead of the target 5.2 mmol or less even though I had not eaten a large amount. I think my body just did not tolerate it well overnight so next time I will limit myself to two or three cubes.

Another point is the delivery. It took a full week to arrive which felt too long especially given that postage costs almost five pounds. Living in central London I am used to next day deliveries so this was disappointing.

Overall I will definitely buy again but just in smaller portions. It is a satisfying treat that fits well with a lower sugar lifestyle and is a great alternative for anyone who finds regular chocolate too sweet.

This Dark 70% bar is not just Keto approved but also as an insulin pump wesring diabetic, my blood glucose also approves! This chocolate is smooth and indulgent without the bitter artificial aftertaste wich so many other brands of chocolate bars lesve in the mouth.
My taste buds swooned on the first piece and my brain did a happy dance. Being diabetic we have to either give up a lot pr compromise, i fo neither with DGF chocolate. You can taste the quality without the spikes in blood sugars.
I love them so much, I have subscribed to the chocolate club.

A perfect chocolate bar to eat when I feel like a treat, to be honest I could eat the whole bar in one go. So good I've placed another order.

I like this chocolate because ‘it does what it says on the tin’; that is, it tastes like the best chocolate orange and it does very little to spike blood glucose.

Absolutely adore this chocolate. It melts in your mouth and is so scrumptiously satisfying. It's far better than any other keto chocolate I have ever tried. I promise, you won't be disappointed.
